Malta Football Association CEO Bjorn Vassallo denied he was present when Floriana FC club president Johann Said allegedly accused Valletta FC president Victor Sciriha of bribery.

Mr Vassallo was replying to a legal letter Mr Sciriha sent Mr Said in which the Valletta president said it had come to his knowledge Mr Said had accused him of bribery in the presence of Mr Vassallo. Mr Sciriha also said Mr Vassallo was ready to confirm this.

However, in a statement, Mr Vassallo said he “categorically denied that any such comments were ever made by Mr Said in his presence, at any period before, during or after the match”.
