A research project looking into the work of renowned 1960s production companies Radju Muskettieri and The Stage Commandos is currently ongoing at St James Cavalier in Valletta.

The M3P Foundation is exploring musicians, lyricists, theatre makers, singers and performers associated directly or indirectly with these popular companies.

The focus is on songs by entertainer Charles Clews and composers Mike Cassar and Carmelo Abela. However, many other collaborators were also involved with these two companies. This archival material, recently sourced from the Clews family and digitised by the M3P Foundation, includes many notes and scores for songs that have not been performed or heard since the 1950s.

Musical performances held within the Spazju Kreattiv programme will complement a broader display of material from the Clews collection planned during the same period. Oral histories about all this will also be collected by the M3P Foundation.

■ The project is continuing at St James Cavalier until December 4. For more information, visit http://kreattivita.org .
