A team of students from the National Sport School, Pembroke, comprising Brooke Agius, Liam Scicluna and Malcolm Vassallo, won the fourth edition of the Malta Junior Science Olympiad, held recently at Gozo College’s Victoria Secondary School.

A total of 26 teams from local secondary schools took part in the event during which the participants had to conduct biological, chemical and physical investigations regarding water.

St Benedict Kirkop Secondary School and Gozo College’s Middle School came second and third respectively.

Education Minister Evarist Bartolo and US Ambassador Kathleen Hill presented a trophy to the winning team.

The event was organised by the Education Ministry’s Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes in collaboration with the European Commission Representation in Malta.
