Nexia BT, an audit, tax and advisory firm, has merged its advisory practice with E-Cubed Consultants Ltd. The merger is aimed at meeting Nexia BT clients’ growing demands for a broader range of professional capabilities and for a wider international reach.

A new Economics and EU Affairs Division will be formed under the leadership of Gordon Cordina as partner and Stephanie Vella as director. This new division will operate in synergy with the advisory practice, which will continue to be led by Anita Aloisio.

Dr Cordina said: “With Nexia BT’s support and its global platform, the merged organisation will be in a better position to meet the requirements of its clients rapidly, flexibly and in a cost-effective manner, using a multi-disciplinary approach. The merged organisation will furthermore focus on supporting the principal growth areas of the Maltese economy over the coming years and on extending its successful advisory model internationally.”

Meeting clients’ demands for a broader range of professional capabilities and for a wider international reach

Ms Aloisio, who led Nexia BT’s advisory practice to win the Advisory Firm of the Year awarded by International Accounting Bulletin, said the merger was an opportunity for all stakeholders, especially Nexia BT’s clients and staff. This is because Nexia BT intends to invest and grow the business, strengthen the combined business solutions that will be possible through the merger, while remaining flexible and capable to meet time and budgetary requirements.

The merger will see the firm’s advisory practice’s multidisciplinary team rise to 40 highly qualified and proficient professionals holding and studying towards PhDs in economics, and master’s degrees in business administration, economics, accountancy, finance and financial services, as well as qualifications in engineering.

The academically qualified professionals, coupled with the leaders’ experience, makes the newly merged Nexia BT advisory practice a unique service provider in the area of finance, cost modelling, economics, EU policy and funds, environment, business and operations modelling, statistics and forecasting and legal/regulatory issues.

Nexia BT managing partner Brian Tonna said its advisory practice is committed to continue to provide a personalised service built on close client relationships, and to serve all its clients by giving them value-added solutions that best meet their requirements. It is the intention of the partners to retain and consolidate this approach, which has underpinned their reputation to date.
