The Church in Malta celebrated the seventh anniversary of the election of Pope Benedict on Saturday evening with Mass at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta.
In his homily, Archbishop Paul Cremona called on the faithful to embrace the Pope’s message about a personal friendship with Jesus.
He urged people to endorse the Pope’s prayer during his recent visit to Cuba, “that we may open up our hearts to the words of the Gospel and to the redeeming power of the Risen Christ; in order that we may grow in our friendship with Jesus; and that we may pass on our faith to others responsibly”.
