Paths to a low-carbon economy in Malta was the theme of the first in a series of seminars regarding climate change-related research held by the University of Malta’s Climate Change Platform (CCP)

The seminars aim to present research developed at the University and identify gaps where further research is needed to support policy.

The seminar was addressed by Joseph Caruana, permanent secretary of the Ministry for Sustainable Development, the Environment and Climate Change, Prof. Simone Borg, climate change ambassador and CCP chair, Prof. Maria Attard, director of the University’s Institute of Sustainable Development and Climate Change, and Dr Philip von Brockdorff, head of the University’s Department of Economics.

The CCP, set up under the auspices of the University’s Islands and Small States Institute, aims to facilitate collaboration between University entities and individuals interested in climate change issues, and to promote research and teaching initiatives relating to climate change.
