Finally, a good move in the right direction! Road signs are now showing our names in Maltese, and rightly so.

A name is a name and as foreigners have gotten used to names like Sliema, Wardija and Mdina, which are in Maltese, they can quite easily get used to names like San Ġiljan and San Pawl il-Baħar!

I’ve travelled to quite a few places and everywhere I go, road signs show the names of places in their native language. Why on earth should we be any different? Is the submissive gene still lurking on?

In addition, not all tourists speak English anyway!
