Neuer: Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is set to make his German league debut for Bayern Munich today against Borussia Moenchengladbach, despite complaining of an upset stomach, the club has said. The 25-year-old withdrew from training on Friday with gastro-intestinal problems.

Kloetzer dies: Kuno Kloetzer, who coached Hamburg to Cup Winners’ Cup glory in 1977, died yesterday, aged 89. Kloetzer coached several clubs, beginning with Fortuna Dusseldorf in 1953, but the greatest triumph of his career came on May 11, 1977 when Hamburg beat Anderlecht 2-0. After the cup triumph, Kloetzer went on to coach Hertha Berlin and Werder Bremen before he retired in 1982 after one season in charge of Duisburg.

Subotic: German champions Borussia Dortmund will be without defender Neven Subotic for next Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against Hoffenheim. The centre-back tore a groin muscle in training and will be sidelined for the next 10 days. Subotic sat out Friday’s opening German league match of the season as the champions beat Hamburg 3-1 at home and his place went to Brazil’s Felipe Santana.

Jarolim: Czech coach Karel Jarolim is leaving Slovak champions Slovan Bratislava for Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli, the Czech daily Sport said on its website. “I have a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, one that coaches don’t get every week... I should move early next week,” Sport quoted the 54-year-old as saying.
