Stella Maris College and Sliema Scouts teamed up over the Easter holidays and camped in the grounds of Verdala Castle, Buskett.

Over 100 cubs, scouts, ventures and rovers from the two groups took part in the camp, which consisted of Easter-related activities such as figolla making, an Easter egg hunt and the traditional Easter competition, which included numerous scouting skills.

Some scouts worked on their photography and entertainer badges while others played hockey, practised archery or took part in a wood- chopping competition.

Older scouts forming part of the Venture Unit built an elevated shelter, where they camped for the duration of the camp. They also went on a night hike and rode go karts.

They spent their last evening in a cave at Dingli Cliffs.

The camp was visited by President George Abela and the scouts were treated to a guided tour of Verdala Castle.

The young cubs adopted a cowboys and Indians theme. Pack activities ranged from crate staking to night games, laser tag and four-way tug of war. They also went on hikes and participated in various crafts sessions.
