The Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) is calling for project proposals based on the National Research and Innovation Programme 2013 which provides state financial aid for research, development and innovation in science and technology.

The focus of this programme will be based on technology transfers between academia and industry in relation to knowledge providers (academia institution); knowledge users (industrial entity); and technology transfer to fulfil genuine needs (funding limits apply).

The programme places specific focus on four priority sectors identified in the national research and innovation strategy, which include environment and energy resources (including offshore solar technology projects and limestone science and technology), information and communications technology, value-added manufacturing and services and health and biotechnology. Project proposals to be submitted under this programme should cover between one to three years and have a value of between €50,000 and €200,000.

Information is available at www.mcst.gov.mt or by contacting the MCST on 2360 2123 or at rtdi.mcst@gov.mt.
