Euro Media Forum, Palazzo de Piro and the Malta Film Commission are celebrating 10 years since Troy was filmed in Malta. It was released a year later, in 2004.

Directed by Wolfgang Petersen, Troy is an adaptation of Homer’s great epic and follows the assault on Troy by the united Greek forces. It stars Hollywood A-listers Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, Eric Bana, Diane Kruger and Peter O’Toole.

The event, being held at Palazzo de Piro, Mdina, on Monday at 7pm, will host speaker Winston Azzopardi, co-producer of Troy. He will focus on how the sword-and-sandal epic was filmed in Malta and on how the city of Troy was recreated in various Maltese localities and other countries.

The audience is invited to participate and put forward questions, curiosities and observations. There will also be a Troy film quiz, and participants may win a number of prizes.

Limited seating is available. Tickets at €10 include wraps and a glass of wine and are available from Palazzo de Piro. For bookings, send an e-mail to euromediaforum@gmail.com, or an SMS to 9945 4066, or log on to www.facebook.com/Euro.Media.Forum.
