This year’s Tazza l-Kbira championship enters its second stage with two semi-finals being run at Marsa this afternoon.
The Tazza l-Kbira is the biggest competition in local harness racing and the high level of the participating horses has been evident from the very first heats.
It’s the actual final that is most awaited but today’s top-quality semi-finals are expected to draw a big crowd to the racetrack.
Today’s programme gets underway at 2.30pm and the two semi-finals on the card are scheduled for 4.10pm and 5pm.
After six heats, 24 horses have made it to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, one of these trotters has been declared a non runner as he was deceased following an incident. The list of entries today comprises 11 French horses, 10 Swedish and two German.
Twelve horses qualify for the final on April 19.
