Malta’s recently regenerated Vittoriosa and the French City of St Tropez have teamed up to encourage activities related to their two ports and promote sustainable tourism in the maritime sector.

Vittoriosa mayor John Boxall and Claude Berard, deputy mayor of St Tropez, signed a cooperation agreement last week. The twinning idea was born a couple of years ago through former Maltese Ambassador to France Mark Miggiani. The current Ambassador Pierre Clive Agius has continued in his predecessor’s footsteps.

The hook has been the prestigious regatta Trophée Bailli de Suffren from St Tropez to Malta, which has, since this year, ended at the Vittoriosa Waterfront and should be the yearly finishing line.
