A faulty truck on the Rabat road at Attard has snarled up traffic all the way to the Mrieħel bypass.

Motorists along a long traffic jam said they had been stuck for more than 20 minutes.

Some were seen getting out of their cars and pacing around.

The police said no one was injured but later clarified there was no accident and that it was a truck with mechanical problems that caused the traffic to grind to a halt.

The truck blocked a stretch of the road reduced to a single lane because of works.

Once the truck was moved out of the way, traffic flowed again.
