At least 94 per cent of computers have corrupt, unused and possibly harmful files, according to Msida-based Uniblue Systems Ltd. Thus the company has upgraded its Registry Booster software to do a more thorough job with his kind of files.

"The Registry Booster not only has been proven to be one of the safest and most trusted solution tools which help you clean and optimise your system from unwanted registry errors and fragmented entries, this new version contains an additional boost of exciting features," the company said.

The new version is compatible with Windows Vista, the latest operating system released by Microsoft and has an enhanced and more in-depth tuned scanning engine which enables the user to scan the registry more aggressively and can detect and fix more errors.

The software also has a new option to scan additional sections within the registry and a log generation which contains a transcript of all the actions performed on the registry by a particular fix operation. This functionality will be especially helpful for those users who want to know what exactly has been done to their registry.
