An arch has been built at the entrance to Vittoriosa to bridge a gap in the historic bastions made when the road was laid.
Resources Minister George Pullicino said the project was part of the restoration of the bastions.
The arch has been built to rejoin the two parts of St John Bastion.
The ministry is spending €36 million on the restoration of the bastions, including €9 million for the bastions around Vittoriosa.
