Archbishop Charles Scicluna will be celebrating Mass on Monday to pay tribute to slain journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

The Mass will be held at the victim's village and will start at 3pm, the same hour she was killed by a devastating car bomb last Monday.

In a highly unusual gesture from the Vatican, Pope Francis also wrote to Malta's archbishop to say he is praying for journalist’s family and Maltese people.

Meanwhile, a group of artists met in Valletta this morning to sketch their messages six days after the gruesome murder.

Meanwhile, a vigil was held by the Maltese community outside the Maltese embassy in Berlin.

"Considering the small Maltese community, the turnout was quite amazing. It was also quite unique as other nationals also showed up. The message for us is that this has hit home to a lot of people going beyond just the Maltese nation," one of the organisers said.
