Athletics Malta president Aldrin Cassar has been elected as vice president of the Athletics Association of Small States of Europe (AASSE), which brings together the smaller nations in European athletics within the auspices of the broader European body.

In a statement, Athletics Malta said that this prestigious appointment augurs well as Malta’s athletics movement continues to grow following the organisation of high-profile events in recent years and increasingly remarkable results obtained by local athletes.
