A six-meter-high balloon of US President Donald Trump as a snarling, orange baby flew over Paris on Sunday to coincide with his visit to the French capital.

Trump was invited to attend a ceremony commemorating 100 years since the end of World War One, along with other leaders including Vladimir Putin, Angela Merkel and Just Trudeau.

Hundreds of protesters gathered at Place de la Republique to demonstrate against the visit, and footage also showed a skirmish taking place.

The commemoration was the centrepiece of global tributes to honour those who died during the 1914-18 war and to commemorate the signing of the Armistice that brought the fighting to an end at 11 a.m. on Nov 11, 1918.
