SENGLEA ATHLETIC 0

BALZAN 5

Majdevac 25, 61

Lepovic 43

Camilleri 64

Alves 88

Andrija Majdevac did not make Balzan regret Bojan Kaljevic’s departure as the Serbian striker scored twice in their 5-0 rout of Senglea Athletic at the Tedesco Stadium, yesterday.

Balzan managed to find a way through when Alfred Effiong was tripped inside the penalty area by Manuel Guillari.

Majdevac, who earlier this month featured with A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners alongside Usain Bolt, took charge of the penalty spot and sent Matthew Farrugia the wrong way to unlock the score.

Balzan continued to press for a second and they managed to double their lead moments before half-time when Lepovic connected with an Ivan Bozovic cross.

Majdevac grabbed his second goal of the night when he darted in between his markers to convert a Bozovic’s cross from close-range.

Moments later, Dale Camilleri registered his first goal in his Balzan career. He received the ball inside the penalty area, dribbled past two opponents before hitting the ball past Farrugia.

Late in the game, Roman Tchanturia floored Alex Alves as Balzan earned their second penalty of the night. Alves made no mistake from the spot to seal the points for his side.

Andrija Majdevac of Balzan was voted as the BOV Player of the match.
