Two young players from Balzan FC will be travelling to Serbia in the coming days to undergo a trial with Serbian side FK Indija, who are currently playing in the country's top First Division.
Jamie Zerafa, a member of the Malta U-19 national team, and Antonio Mitrev, a Macedonia U-19 international, will be spending ten days in Serbia and will hope to impress FK Indija's coaches with a view of being offered a contract.
Zerafa said that his trial with FK Indija was a huge opportunity for his career.
"I am looking forward for this opportunity as my dream is to play football on a big stage and I know that in the country like Serbia I must give all the effort to prove my quality and I feel it the right move for my further development”.
On his part, Anton Tagliaferro, the president of Balzan FC, said: "I am very happy that we continue to grow as a club and continue to create international network.
I am sure this will be a great experience for those boys to train and try their talent in a country like Serbia, well known for producing very quality young players that are playing in top clubs all over Europe."
Earlier this month, Balzan had also announced that Brazilian winger Alex Alves was also heading to Serbia to start a trial with Premier Division side FK Cukaricki.
