Joseph Muscat’s nefarious mantra of a successful economy, based on a concoction of greed and deceit, is so powerful that even the local Church is being dragged into its snare.
This is why so many local career-minded theologians with bloated full-timers’ salaries artfully sermonise about Pope Francis’s love of a poor Church. It is, thus, hilarious that they are lecturing the rest of the Maltese faithful, unfortunately, equally deluded, that Archbishop Charles Scicluna’s successful careerism in the Vatican and dedication to the local flock are incompatible. Perhaps they do not know that, in dark days, God will grant the gift of bilocation to bishops and not just to mystics like Padre Pio.
