A woman claiming she was beaten by two bouncers in Paceville has been charged by the police with attempting to use force and disturbing the public peace.

The incident made the headlines after Michelle Sullivan, 45, from Swieqi posted a selfie showing bruises all over her face. She also urged her Facebook friends to help her trace the two “cowards”.

The woman was yesterday notified she had to appear in court to face charges. Contacted last night, she said she was completely taken aback by the police decision.

Reading from the charge sheet, Ms Sullivan said she was summoned to appear in court to face accusations of using force with intent to cause injury and insult another person and also of disturbing the public peace.
