The Gozitan  Schola Cantorum Jubilate will be taking part in Canta e Cammina, an ‘emotional parable’ of spiritual music, a guided tour and a professional reading, endorsed by the Valletta 2018 Foundation.

The choir, under the direction of Marouska Attard, will perform a cappella and accompanied in various surroundings and spots at St Mark’s Priory – The Augustinian Cloister, in Rabat on May 12 at 7pm.

A tour guide will guide the audience and there will also be professional reading.

The event is designed to be responsive, roving, and innovative, with an emphasis on the process and close interaction with the audience. This is an innovative concept that will require the choir and attendees to move from one place into the other.

The repertoire for the soirée will include pieces by Mozart, Bach, Zelenka, Pitoni, Caruana, Aguiar, Buti, Rutter and Gjielo.

An exhibition in the foyer ‘Profiles… Human and Divine’ by artist and iconographer Nathanael Theuma, will complement the event.

An admission fee of €10 is being charged for the upkeep and conservation of the cloister and church.

For reservations contact augustiniancloister@gmail.com or call 9984 4628 or 7906 1945.
