Whenever I alight from the bus at the bus terminus in Valletta I wonder why the dead pine trees (seven) in number have not been replanted. They have been dead for years now.

The answer is simple: we Maltese do not love trees, the environment and things beautiful! We like to tear down nice buildings and build brick and concrete buildings instead. The most important thing is to have money in the banks.

The environment? Who cares about the environment? The environment ministry and all its agencies are a joke.

If they had replaced a single sapling every year for the last six years, Valletta would not have had this eyesore at its entrance.

Talk about the environment is cheap. The least said, the better.
