Dominic Grech, leader of the well-known local band The Tramps died yesterday aged 55.

The Tramps were popular during the 1970s and 1980s and Mr Grech was best known for his compositions Xemx and Ghawdex Inti Djamant.

Mr Grech, of Victoria, passed away after a long illness. He was married to Pauline and was father to George, Christian, Richard and Mark.

The funeral will proceed from Republic Street in Victoria tomorrow at 5.30 p.m. for the Gozo Cathedral where Mass praesente cadavere will be said.
