This week’s Barocco Foundation’s lunch-time concert features mezzo-soprano Maria Mallia and pianist Julia Miller. 

Mallia, 23, has been studying classical singing since 2014 under the guidance of soprano Juliette Bisazza.  She is also a medical doctor. 

Miller has played in a many venues in Malta, both as a soloist and as a musical collaborator. In 2018, she was the accompanist for soprano Miriam Gauci for her masterclasses as part of the Gaulitana Festival. 

Tomorrow’s programme includes Mozart’s lively Voi che sapete from The Marriage of Figaro, Gluck’s Che farÒ senza Euricide, Italian songs by Bellini, Tosti, Donizetti and Denza, and the Ave Maria by Gomez.

Classical Arias and Songs is being held tomorrow at St Catherine of Italy church, Valletta, at 12.30pm.  For more information, log on to www.barocco-malta.com.
