Allow me to quote the last sentence of Kevin Hodkin’s letter ‘Accountability’ (April 12), which struck me:

“Problem being, in Britain, as is shown on a daily basis, the Prime Minister is made accountable to the electorate whereas here the Prime Minister seems to answer to… any ideas?”

Yes, same as in the UK, to the electorate. And in case the correspondent has a short memory, let me remind him that, in the 2013 election, the electorate gave Prime Minister Joseph Muscat a massive vote of confidence and an even bigger one four years later.
