A cyclist who crashed into a tree on the Rabat Road was being treated in hospital on Sunday evening.

The 25-year-old Italian man lost control, fell off and crashed into the tree at Triq is-Saqqajja, the police said  He was seriously injured.

The accident happened at about 5.30pm

Magistrate Charmaine Galea is leading an inquiry.
