ACECAD Enterprise Co. Ltd, a leading global manufacturer of pen input devices and graphics tablets has appointed Hi-Tech Products Limited of Valletta as their official local distributor.

Concurrently, Hi-Tech have launched the DigiMemo A501, a digital pad and electronic inking pen. This stand-alone device with storage capabilities digitally captures and stores everything you write or draw on paper without the use of computers and special papers.

Using electromagnetic technology, it allows you to fix any ordinary paper or notepad (up to 211 mm x 150 mm - A5 size) on the digital pad and write with ink. Without changing the way you work, it writes as well as a ballpoint pen on ordinary paper, but also digitally records your notes, ideas, drawings, sketches and flowcharts in the pad's flash memory or optional Compact Flash (CF) card in real time.

DigiMemo enables you to work in ways that you are familiar, with the ease of use and convenience of pen and paper.

The device comes with software (DigiMemo Manager) that enables you to view, edit and organise your digital notes on a PC individually or save as a book file (e-Book) and share with others via e-mail.

"DigiMemo A501 is ACECAD's first product designed specifically for mobile applications," Henry Wu, president of ACECAD said. "What the DigiMemo provides is the most natural way that people have worked for thousands of years - using ink pen writing on paper.

"Take the DigiMemo wherever you go and write down whatever you want, and digitally store everything you write on paper. It's designed to bring your daily life into the digital age.

"Handwriting can help you think. It's with this aim that we designed the DigiMemo. This device is an excellent fit for note-taking and form-filling markets where handwriting input is essential."

Capable of storing up to 999 pages in its standard memory, DigiMemo, which is being launched at a special introductory price of Lm45, also comes with its own software enabling you to easily view, edit and organise your digital page files in Windows. Save the digital page files you arbitrarily select as a book file (e-Book) and share it with others via e-Mail.

You can also allow your digital notes to be viewed as thumbnails, and select, copy and paste all or part of your handwritten notes or drawings into another program, like e-mail, Microsoft Word or Excel.
