An 83-year-old man was seriously injured on Monday morning when he was hit by a Toyota Lancruiser driven by a 77-year-old.

The accident happened at Triq Is-Saqqajja in Rabat at 7.30am. 

The injured man, who is from Mdina, was given first aid by a medical team before being taken to hospital. A magisterial inquiry is under way.
