The government has decided to close the Maltese embassy in Stockholm, Sweden, later on this year.

The government said Malta's embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark will now be accredited to Sweden. It said the closure was part of the government's "regionalisation" of diplomatic missions.

Alfred Falzon, Malta's ambassador in Stockholm, has informed the Swedish government about the Maltese government's decision.
