The sixth Malta Medical School Conference, which is organised triennially, is being held on November 30, December 1 and 2 at the SAS Radisson Bay Point Resort, St Julian's. It is open to all medical doctors, dentists, paramedical staff, students and workers in the academic and health-related sectors.

Eminent speakers include Professor Sir Liam Donaldson, chief medical officer for England, Tim Eden, Professor of Paediatric Oncology at the Christie Hospital in Manchester, Professor David Hatch, chair of the Assessment Committee of the General Medical Council in the UK, Dick Rainsbury, chair of the Postgraduate Training Committee, The Royal College of Surgeons, and Nick Fahy from the EU Health Strategy Unit of the European Commission.

The scientific programme includes 137 oral and 125 poster presentations covering public health and health management, medical education, neonatology, paediatrics, pharmacology, pharmacy, cardiology, anaesthesia, geriatrics, diabetes, oncology, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, infectious diseases, medicine and surgery, psychiatry, ENT and dentistry.
