A 56-year-old English man suffered serious injuries after falling out of a boat off Manoel Island.

The police said they were informed of the incident in Gżira, at around 10am.

Civil Protection Department personnel, together with Armed Forces of Malta and Red Cross Society members were all on site.

The man was given first aid on site and then rushed to Mater Dei.

Investigations are ongoing.
