Three Europol analysts will be arriving in Malta this week to help the police in their investigation into the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Ms Caruana Galizia was killed in a car bomb explosion last week.

In a statement, the police referred to reports naming the explosive used in the bomb and said it was premature to speculate at this point.

They said investigations and tests on the material were still being carried out locally and abroad, and that these took time.

"So any reference made to any kind of material used in the bomb was hearsay," they said.

Anyone having any information which could help the police solve the case should call 2294 2008 or e-mail crimeinfo@gov.mt.

The police said all information received would be investigated by a number of response teams set up for the purpose.

The 53-year-old journalist was assassinated in a car bomb close to her home in Bidnija, sending shockwaves in Malta and overseas.
