Expekt.com, one of the longest established Internet gaming companies in Malta, recently donated Lm3,000 to the Richmond Foundation.
This presentation was held at Expekt.com's premises at The Strand, Gzira, where the 85 employees of the Malta head office were gathered for the monthly company information meeting.
Expekt.com's CEO, Per Widerstrom, said it was an honour and a pleasure for him to present this donation on behalf of the whole organisation. He said Expekt.com strongly believes in exercising a social responsibility that goes beyond the everyday challenge to provide the company's customers with an entertaining and responsible gaming experience.
Mr Widerstrom also explained that a significant part of the sum being donated came from the employees themselves, when they took a collective decision to direct the money towards a charitable institution rather than receive a Christmas present from the company last December.
The donation was received by Richmond Foundation's CEO Doris Gauci, who also delivered a brief presentation on the foundation's endeavours in tackling mental health problems and patients' reintegration into society.
Mrs Gauci outlined the Richmond Foundation's underlying thrust in its various projects: the rehabilitation facility at Villa Chelsea, the supported housing scheme, the supported employment programme, the home support service and the staff support programme.
Mrs Gauci also toured various departments at Expekt.com.
