Local running club Raptorz have formally launched the third edition of the much

awaited Fastest5, a 5km race held around the streets of Balzan, Birkirkara and Sta Venera. The race will be held on Sunday May 26, at 7.30am.

Despite the race being in its first years, it already become a permanent fixture on the racing calendar of Malta’s running elite as well as for a growing number of running enthusiasts.

In particular, runners look forward to the local race which gives them the best opportunity to register a personal best, owing for the route being very flat and having a very limited amount of corners.

The speed of this route is evidenced by results which have been achieved so far, with five atlethes completing the 2018 run below 16 minutes.  Around 300 runners crossed the finish line last year.

This year, the race will finish in the newly renovated Ġnien l-Istazzjon in Birkirkara, giving the atlethes the opportunity to cool down and relax in a clean, healthy environment while enjoying some of the perks which once again will be offered by the race organisers – including free massages and a fruit basket selection.

Raptorz Running president Darren Vandit noted that “the third edition will be even bigger.

"Following the positive feedback received from the first two races, we are implementing a number of improvements to the event to ensure that the runner enjoys the best possible experience on race day.”

Further information is available on www.fastest5.run or via email on raptorzrunningclub@gmail.com.

The event is being held in collaboration with Teamsport and Diadora
