Civil Protection Department firefighters helped out today when a fire broke out in the engine room of a ship berthed at the Oil Tanking Gateway Terminal in Birżebbuġa.

The alarm was raised at 10.55am and the situation was brought under control within an hour. Four fire engines, four officers and eight firefighters were deployed.
