Malta’s premier rock ’n’ roller Freddie Portelli is back with his first release for 2011.

The double A-side single was officially launched a few weeks ago and features the songs We Got Music and Everybody Tonight. Discussing the new songs, Portelli said “We Got Music is inspired by the dedication of people who organise music marathons for charity, which are a common occurrence in Malta. Everybody Tonight, on the other hand, is more of a 1950s throwback and features a guitar solo in the spirit of that period.”

Portelli also said he was pleased that the positive response to his releases hasn’t waned, adding that it is the support of his fans that has kept him going strong.

With this release, Portelli’s tally of recorded releases has now reached 262 since the release of Viva Malta back in the 1960s, a mighty feat indeed. Meanwhile, Xammar, the album he released last year, is still clocking up healthy sales, auguring well for a brand new full-length release from the Maltese rock ‘n roll legend.
