Maltese Trap shooter Brian Galea competed in the ISSF World Cup shoot which was held in Guadalajara, Mexico this week.

The Maltese shooter was among 58 trap shooters from around the world.

On the opening day, Galea compiled scores of 19 and 23 before showing remarkable progress the following day when hitting 24, 25 and 24 to finish with a total of 115 from 125 which is an ISSF MQS score.

The gold medal went to Luxembourg shooter Sosa Lyndod who compiled 122 from 125 in the qualifying round before hitting 46 in the final.

Lyndod finished one ahead of Italy's Emanuele Buccolieri while third place went to Finland's Vesa Tornoos.

Galea will now team up with fellow shooters William Chetcuti, Nathan Lee Xuereb, Marlon Attard and Eleonor Bezzina who will be representing Malta at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast next month.
