The Malta Tourism Authority has launched the Ambassadorial Scheme, an initiative to further promote Malta as an ideal destination where to hold international conferences.

The MTA's conference and incentive division, in collaboration with the Destination Management Companies Directorate and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association, recently organised a business dinner for representatives from 11 medical associations affiliated in the Malta Medical Association to discuss the scheme.

MTA Marketing and Promotion Director Jeffrey Cutajar said the scheme aimed to encourage officials in the public and private sector who travel overseas to attend international conferences, to promote the Maltese islands as a venue for conferences.

He said there would be future meetings with other associations regarding the scheme.
