Former Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi took his first look this morning at a portrait of himself which will hang at the Auberge de Castille.

The portrait is the work of artist Philippa Bianchi.

Dr Gonzi called at her studio in Mriehel accompanied by his wife Cathrine. Both appeared to be pleased with the work.

Portraits of all of Malta's past prime ministers hang on the walls of the Cabinet Room at Castille.
