Ġorġ tal-Mużew – whose full name is Ġorġ Agius – has been given a lifetime award for his voluntary work, regularly visiting those in hospital and in prison.

The ceremony was organised at the Palace in Valletta by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector, under the patronage of President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, to mark the International Volunteer Day.

The National Prize for Volunteers was presented to Marjoe Abela for her work with the Malta Girl Guides. The youth prize was won by Kyle Mifsud, while Dr Klown got the prize set aside for organisations.
