One of our daily papers has just reported that the government will be issuing a call to rebuild 170 roads worth around €70 million. Yet again, no reference in the relative press release refers to the sister island.

Gozo has a right to be included in every government bonanza. We do pay our taxes and deserve our share even from funds emanating from the EU. It is indeed shameful that not a single euro is being spent in Gozo out of this generous allocation to Malta’s roads.

Most of our roads are in a horrible and awry state. It is high time that this problem be tackled at its roots.

Our island merits better treatment.

It is indeed shameful that Gozo is repeatedly left in the lurch.
