The Gozo Regional Committee (GRC) has been formally constituted and will be allocated a seat on the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development, following recently changes to the MCESD law, the governemnt said.

The committee is composed of 17delegates nominated as follows: The Gozo Business Chamber (two delegates), The Gozo Tourism Association (two delegates), The Local Council Gozo Region (three delegates), The Gozo Section of the General Workers Union (one delegate), The Gozo Section of the Confederation of Malta Trade Unions (one delegate), The Gozo Section of the Union Haddiema Maqghudin (one delegate), The Gozo Section of the GRTU (one delegate), The Gozo Diocese (one delegate), The Ministry for Gozo (one delegate), The Gozo University Group (one delegate) and the   Gozo NGOs Association (three delegates).

Michael Grech, president of the Gozo Business Chamber is the first president of the Gozo Regional Committee and member (ex ufficio) of the MCESD.
