A 73-year-old man was rushed to hospital on Monday evening after being hit by a car whilst crossing the road in Fgura

Police said in a statement that the car driver fled the scene of the incident in Hompesch road. 

The man was rushed to hospital by ambulance, were he was found to be suffering from grievous injuries. 

Investigations are ongoing.
