A 50-Year-Old man from Zejtun, Angelo Seychell, was shot dead in a hunting accident near his home yesterday morning.

The police said the man fell victim to a shot fired by his nephew, who is in his early 20s, while hunting from an adjoining field. The man died on the spot. The accident happened at Triq Hajt il-Wied at around 7 a.m.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna is holding an inquiry.

This was the second recent accident of its nature. On September 14, a 16-year-old was accidentally shot and wounded in the leg by his friend in Mistra.
