Imogen Heap, a critically acclaimed Grammy and Ivor Novello award-winner with a strong innovative streak, will be taking centre stage at the Malta Blockchain Summit as the founder of Mycelia.

The London-born singer – whose song Hide and Seek was a massive commercial success – will also be performing a 30-minute acoustic set as part of the premier blockchain and DLT event.

Mycelia is a growing group of creatives, professionals and lovers of music who, among other things, seek to empower “a fair, sustainable and vibrant music industry ecosystem, involving all online music interaction services”.

Heap has come to the fore not only as a pure musician and a critics’ darling, but also as a tech innovator in the music industry. Heap is a true musician’s musician, and a very vocal advocate for the creative industry.

She has already made a number of appearances at tech events, and her talks are consistently very well-received presentations. Mycelia is one of the most exciting initiatives to hit the creative arts in a long time, and the Creative Passport has obvious potential correlation to blockchain and DLT developments.

This makes Mycelia and Heap an ideal fit for the Malta Blockchain Summit, as the overall thrust of the marquee blockchain event will cover all aspects of the emerging tech – including the less-publicised projected applications of a technology that stands to revolutionise most aspects of business, including the arts.

Heap will perform a 30-minute acoustic set at the Malta Blockchain Awards and charity dinner. The closing night will take place a stone’s throw away from the summit nerve centre, at Sky Club.

The addition of Mycelia and Heap to an already star-studded cast of characters promises to give the Malta Blockchain Summit an added dimension. For more information visit www.maltablockchainsummit.com and www.myceliaformusic.org.
