It's never too late

The waterfront of Vittoriosa is soon to be desecrated by several modern buildings which are an affront to the exquisite old naval bakery (now the excellently renovated Maritime Museum).

There is nothing wrong with well designed modern architecture in the right place. But the proposed buildings are not well designed and they are in the wrong place! The superstructure of one building is already constructed, but it is not too late to design the façade to incorporate compatible fenestration and stone masonry to reflect the maritime character of the waterfront.

The hotel which has yet to be built should be completely redesigned to relate to, and enhance, the streetscape of this remarkable icon of the Maltese environment.

It is never too late!
