Joseph Paul Cassar will be discussing important works by several Maltese artists who pioneered a modern aesthetic at a time ingrained in traditional forms of expression during a lecture entitled ‘Key works by modern Maltese artists: a critical appraisal’.

An appraisal of each selected artwork will be given, within the general output of the artist’s oeuvre, and placed within a wider historical context.

The works range from 1930 up to the early 1970s.

Hosted by the National Museum of Archaeology, Valletta, the lecture will be held today at 11am. Admission is free of charge.
